Quite customised, lovely looking cab.

Still a tad expensive....

Nothing short of beautiful in appearance and execution.

IMHO, they're NOT model 19, only the components and in a very basic sense at that. Woofers appear to have been reconed with other than Altec parts(at least the one we can see), no mention of crossover network(can we assume the stock 19 networks were just rear mounted?), no baffle offset as in a real M19.

But, they are still no less than absolutely beautiful. The price makes me jump a bit at first, but what would it cost to reproduce those cabinets?

The 416-8C's look more like 411's with the foam surrounds.They are nice looking cabs though.

But I can't understand why? Someone would go through all that trouble and expense to own them for 4 months

When I see that I have to ask what is Wrong w/them.

Why would you mix and match the drivers when building something as Gorgeous as that.Probably doesn't sound as good as anticipated why else would you sell them.Lets face it if you can build cabinets like that you probably aren't hurting for cash.

Absolutely stunning though !!

Location. Not a lot of Altec components floating around down under, we've come to take them for granted here in the US.

Got your point about down under.But eBay is worldwide and from the looks of the cabinets I think he can afford the shipping

I've never taken them for granted, Altec has always been a prize in my eyes.

Sorry AB, poor choice of words on my part. What i meant was that here in the US we take availability for granted to an extent.

No argument about what that fella could afford, but shipping has really become cost prohibitive for many international sales, and is even beginning to catch up domestically.

I just sold a pair of horns and drivers, offered them shipped for 150 hoping i could pocket 100 bucks, 45 bucks in my pocket and a 55 dollar education on how much shipping costs have inflated over the last year is going to be the reality.

Actually, he says the mid and hi controls have been moved to the back, and he does mention original crossovers were used. One could assume that means the original stock 19 XO's were simply installed in the rear, but that is not clearly stated or illustrated anywhere.

Sure i'm probably just picking a nit of context here, but when it comes to ebay and the internet i've found that filling in blanks with assumptions can be a very expensive and frustrating experience. Don't assume ANYTHING that doesn't appear in writing or photos.

They look like 416's to me ...appears to have the pleated surround on the pics now.

Dust cap vent? Surround dope? Not gonna pass those off as "correct" 416's of any kind to me. Even if they're sonically identical, they're not cosmetically correct.

Again, i'm picking nits, but for 5 grand i'm gonna pick all i can find.

Taking a partial sentence from the second paragragh of his discription, " crossovers, and one horn are original".....and, of course, his 416-8C's without dust cap vents.

Apologies.....amazing when you actually have a set of 416's (factory original in factory 19 cabinets) that you don't notice the missing dust caps!!! Maybe he's hoping others will follow my mistake & focus on the cabinets & not the components.
